Shankar Krishnamoorthy has served as Executive Vice President responsible for Strategy & Innovation, Industrial Development, Research & Technology and Procurement since 2017. He also supervises the Africa Business Unit.
Prior to this, he was Executive Vice President of ENGIE’s International Energy Division (2014 to 2016) before becoming Managing Director of the Centralised Electricity Production activity and Chairman of Solairedirect (2016 to 2017).
Shankar joined the Group over 20 years ago. He has worked in Asia, the Middle East and London, firstly in business development then in general management functions. He played a part in the Group’s growth in the Middle East, helping to make ENGIE the largest independent electricity producer in the region.
He began his career in 1982 in India with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), where he held positions in construction, project management and business development.
Shankar Krishnamoorthy holds a degree in Engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering (now Delhi Technological University).
