Pierre Chareyre was appointed Executive Vice President in 2016. Since 2019, he has been in charge of the GEM (Global Energy Management), Generation Europe and B2C France and Benelux Business Units. He heads up the Thermal Global Business Line. From 2016 to 2018, he was responsible for supervising the Global Energy Management, LNG, International Exploration & Production and Latin America Business Units.
Prior to that, he was CEO of Trading Activities from 2010 to 2012, Deputy Chief Financial Officer from 2012 to 2015 and Executive Vice President responsible for the Global Gas and LNG Division from 2015 to 2016.
Pierre joined the Suez Group in 1989 (merged with GDF in 2010, the whole becoming ENGIE in 2015). He held operational and financial management positions in France, the United Kingdom and Belgium. He was also Finance Director at Suez Environnement from 2001 to 2005, a member of the Executive Committee and Vice President Administration and Finance of Suez Energy International from 2005 to 2008, then Corporate Vice President of GDF Suez responsible for investments and acquisitions from 2008 to 2010.
Pierre Chareyre began his career in the International Division of Midland Bank, where he worked from 1983 to 1988.
He is a graduate of the Institute of Political Studies in Paris and holds a postgraduate diploma (DEA) in Public Law (Pantheon-Sorbonne University).
